Our History

First Baptist Schools opened in 1987 as an educational ministry of First Baptist Church. We have watched as God has grown our school from a one-room learning center to our present class structure—consisting of preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and junior and senior high levels— providing our children with a distinctive Christian education.

Our Purpose

The purpose of FBS is to aid families in building students to be godly Christians and good citizens— spiritually, academically, and socially balanced.

Our Mission

First Baptist Schools exists to partner with families in developing Christ-centered students who are spiritually grounded, academically prepared, and purpose-driven. Through a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum integrated with biblical truth, we equip students to think critically, communicate effectively, and pursue lifelong learning. We are committed to cultivating Christlike character, moral integrity, and respect for God-given authority while fostering a love for American heritage and responsible citizenship. In a nurturing and faith-based environment, our goal is to prepare graduates who honor God in their decisions, embrace their unique callings, and impact their communities and the world with wisdom, compassion, and conviction.

Our Philosophy

The educational philosophy of First Baptist School is founded upon the inspired, inerrant, and only infallible Word of God. Therefore, we interpret and integrate all subjects with the study of Biblical principles and ethics.

We believe God has given the responsibility of educating children to the parents (Deut. 6:4-9). The Christian school functions as an educational arm of the church and exists as an extension of the Christian home to benefit parents in their God-given responsibility to “train up a child in the way he should go.” (Prov. 22:6) The Christian school is to assist parents in the educational process but is never to replace the home of its responsibility.

FBS is not for everyone! It is only for those who can meet the academic standards and abide by all of the requirements which are set forth by the school. Church attendance as a family is a vital part of a child's education. Without faithful cooperation from the parents concerning this matter, a student will most likely encounter serious difficulty in the educational process of FBS.
